Today, I was really surprised as I was looking for this art paper for 4 days now. I even was planning on going for a trip to Dubai Mall just so I could get this paper (even though I am still unsure if it’s available there).
I went to craft stores and even an art gallery shop here in Sharjah but they didn’t have it. So, I’ve made a du’a to Allah last night that somehow I could find it near a place where I live.
Then today, I went to this bookshop just near my home and along its street was a copying center! I saw some papers so I was like “Oh let me check if they have.” So I dragged my aunt and entered the place.
So, I started roaming around until I found the love of my life (lol). It was there! That copying center was like complete with everything that I was looking for and it wasn’t even an art store! Subhan’Allah!
Sometimes, Allah just helps and answers you in so many ways. I didn’t plan on looking for it today since I was keen on having that Dubai Mall trip but then after the books and few steps, Allah placed me where I could find it.
Alhamdulillah. Never lose hope even in these very minute things! Each passing day we get to learn and value Allah more in our lives if only we take things always in the most positive way.
As the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said:
“Man should call upon Allah alone to provide for all his needs, so much so that even if a shoe-lace is broken, he should pray to Allah to provide a shoe-lace, and if he needs salt, he should beseech Allah to send it to him.”
“The charity you give will be your shade on the Day of Judgement.”
Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam

Everyone says she is pious because she wears hijab or niqaab, he is pious because he wears thobe and has beard, but do we not know the piety and becoming pious starts not on our physical appearance but within our hearts?
I don’t know but it’s been a trend everywhere that somehow this thought discourages our brothers and sisters in Islam who doesn’t wear as pious clothes as others do.
Remember, not because you wear more modest clothes, you are in higher level, we all are struggling, we all are being tested in our own ways, the dawah should be given in the most sincere way, not on such a harsh and insulting way.
There’s so many things out there that show how hijab should be fashionable how thobe should be swag looking how this should be look cool, and us degrading or making these people doesn’t help, remembering giving dawah doesn’t give you instant change from someone, dawah is not a one day talk, it is a continuous job that every da’ee has to do and I mean every Muslim here.
ENCOURAGE. Not DISCOURAGE.
It is only when we think we are pious enough that we start to fall into sins as we start to degrade others and think that we are “more” pious than them, let me tell you a story about ‘Aishah Radiyallahu Anha.
After the death of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam, indeed the Sahabah Radiyallahu Anhum took ‘ilm and advices from ‘Aishah Radiyallahu Anha.
One day a man came to ‘Aishah and asked her: “When will I know that I am pious?
She said: “When you realize that you are a sinner”.
He said: “And when will I realize I am a sinner?”
She replied: “When you think you are pious.” _____
Indeed, a brain that has no remembrance and mention of Allah Azza Wa Jall is easily tricked by Shaytaan.
Stop thinking you are pious because you are are able to do something that someone else couldn’t do [in regards to the deen].
Always remember that what these people you are giving dawah to are going through, you once went through it.
Every pious had a past and every sinner has a future. Always remember that.
You have to aim to be pious, put it in your heart, not on your brain. ______
And we pray that we learn from this story from ‘Aishah Radiyallahu Anha, may we all find that lighting guidance from Allah Azza Wa Jall through humility and abundant dhikr. Amin
I felt such a heavy grief today as I went on my news feed and seeing so many statuses talking about how their mothers and their fathers don’t give them what they want and at the end saying such words of regret and hate towards their own parents, and these people share same faith.
Astagfirullah. Astagfirullah. Astagfirullah.
What I am about to write is addressed to these people who have enough in life, who have parents who care for them and are treating them with all love, I want you all to reflect from the story of one of the companions of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam and his parents’ love for him. _____
He was ‘Awf Ibn Maalik Radiyallahu Anhu, the son of Maalik Ibn Abu Awf Ashjai who was once captured by the enemy troops during the time of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.
When this news reached the parents of ‘Awf, they were sadden so much to the point that the mother of ‘Awf wept so much her husband went hopeless.
At that point, Malik Radiyallahu Anhu then went to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam and told him:
“My son has been captured.”
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wassalaam then advised them to repeatedly read, “La hawla wala quwwata illah Billah [There is no power or capability except from Allah.]”
With this repeated invocation and supplications to Allah Azza Wa Jall, with His Power and Might, He had caused ‘Awf’s shackles broken in prison and as soon as ‘Awf was able to compose himself, he fled from the enemies.
On his way to his escape, he saw some a female camel and rode away with it, and then many other camels of the enemies came following him.
‘Awf did not stop until he reached his home and when he reached, he called out to his family, on this very moment his father exclaimed after hearing his son’s voice saying:
“By the Lord of the Ka’bah! This is my son ‘Awf!”
And when his mother heard his voice, she shouted continuously saying: “Subhan’Allah! My son has escaped the clutches of the enemy!”
But with their surprise it was not only ‘Awf that came but also many camels.
After ‘Awf was able to rest, Malik went to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam and narrated what had happened.
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam then said: “Treat these camels the way you treat your camels.” _____
Indeed, this is such a beautiful narration of the intense love of the parents towards their children, and a great example of the power of the du’a made by the parents for their children.
This story is also showcases the time where the following verses of the Noble Qur’an were revealed:
“And whomsoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide Him from (sources) he could never imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him.” [Qur’an At Talaq 65: Verses 2-3] _____
So now, you who mock and talk ill of your parents infront of the whole world, how would you be without the help and love of your parents? You’re so arrogant.
Are you not ashamed of the things you are doing? Don’t you know that someone might read that status on your facebook or tumblr or twitter you posted about your parents and eventually tell your parents, I’m not saying you will be reprimanded, but I am more concerned on the feelings that it will give your parents, are you even thinking about that?
Why can’t we just be grateful children to our parents? Why is there always a need to say something “unpleasant” about our parents? Astagfirullah, don’t you realize that the simple I love you to them would mean the world to them then know that that simple rant you put on facebook would break their heart so much, so tell me, how will you answer Allah Azza Wa Jall for that moment you broke the heart of the One who gave everything they could for you? _____
Let us learn from this story of ‘Awf, let us realize the power that the du’a of our parents can give to us, rather than getting busy on talking ill and ranting over the internet about your parents being such a kill joy why not get busy on asking some ad’iyah from them, because such are the prayers that are answered.
May we all realize the worth of our parents before they are taken away from us. Amin.
